This weekend the 23rd annual Gruene Music & Wine Festival is being held!  Last night featured a concert with Pat Green at Gruene Hall, SOLD OUT.

Today there is wine tasting from NOON till 6p.m. at the Grapevine

Not sure where the market location is?  It's on the North side of Gruene as you are traveling to FM 306.  Actually, it's where the restaurant Adobe Verde is located.

We were there last night and saw all of the "huts" being put up.  We have gone the past couple of years and it's fun for everyone!

Adobe Verde Restaurant, Gruene, Texas ~ A  Review    

I came home yesterday after yet another LONG day at the office.  All of my boys were showered, dressed and waiting for me on the coach HUNGRY!  When I say dressed I'm not saying t-shirts and jean shorts I'm talking about starched khaki shorts and pressed Hawaiian shirts....Oh, it makes a Mothers' heart proud to see her boys looking good (ladies, I know you can relate).  

So we tumbled into the car and drove to Gruene, Texas (oh, like 4 minutes from my house) and went to the Adobe Verde.  We frequent this restaurant a lot.  The fajitas are great and margarita's even better!  You can sit inside or outside (where the band is). 

This summer though I noticed that they added this new kids corner with a new play set as well as a little "beach" for the kids to dig into the sand (that will keep them busy!). 

Any way's, it's a very festive place and the food is good.

My office is in Garden Ridge, Texas (4 miles outside of San Antonio, TX).  I live in New Braunfels (right up the street from SA) and last night I spent a few fun filled hours in Gruene, Texas.  

I had evening plans with Brian (my husband) and he was waiting on me (as usual).  I drove home last night from the office in a thunderstorm.  In south Texas rain is a precious commodity (it the kind of stuff we pray for!) the rain was coming down so fast I couldn't see and had to pull over.  I thought that our plans would have to be cancelled when I waited just a few minutes and the rain stopped, the dark skies partied and the sky was clear and the sun came out!  It was just gone like that!   It was glorious!   

When I got home we jumped in the car and drove (5 miles) to Gruene, Texas to go to Gruene Hall.  Which is famous for being the oldest dance hall in Texas.   This place is very cool.  The tiny town itself is located on the Guadalupe River (some B & B's and resorts actually sit on the water so you have a great view).  It's quaint, rich in heritage and the people are great.  There are just a few streets and most just park and walk around.  There are lots of little shops, some great places to eat and wonderful atmosphere.   

But, the biggest event happening in Gruene last night was the dance hall.  Two tons was playing last night.  Well, your wondering what's so great about them..?  I didn't know either. Now I do. They have a huge dance following.  Not only do they play great Texas Music, but there was all kinds of people and ages showing up to dance, the Western Swing!  

It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves.  If your around in the Gruene, Texas area is a place to visit.  There is something refreshing about rain fallen streets, wildflowers blooming, a fun filled dance hall in beautiful Gruene, Texas.
