It won't rain on our parade, floating down the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, Texas

I know I seem to always be talking about the rain, but honestly here we pray for it.  Our aquifers, lakes, rivers are all down.

In New Braunfels we are already into Stage 1 water restrictions.  It's only May!  It's years like this (coupled with the past few years of no rain) that makes me wonder what August holds for us this year?  Yikes!

I was just getting ready to head on over to meet my family at our river house.  It's an old house that was built in 1947 (bought by my husband's grandpa, that smart man) and has been used generation after generation since.  It's a day that we come together, bbq, play with the kids, float the Guadalupe River....all kinds of fun stuff...

but now it's raining.

Do you think that's gonna stop this family from enjoying today?  No way, rain or shine the festivites go on.

So, it's not going to rain on our parade...we are pleased that it's wet outside!

It would be nice if there was ample rain to keep all of the lakes, streams and rivers full so there wouldn't be those kind of problems.  I hope that you have a GREAT day & weekend.

I was up in Wimberly on Saturday doing an inspection, the thunder was really loud. We got more thunder then rain drops. Ceil said they did get some rain at the house; we will take anything we can get. There were allot tubers in N.B. and at the 306 crossing and looked like everyone was having fun. Some boats on the lake and they are still coming.

Have fun and be safet this weekend.

K- I was excited we got a good bit of it!

Don- it would be nice, huh?

Carl-the river was packed with crazy people and no water!  They walked along the slowest parts....it looked like rough rafting!

Ann- sharing is always nice, thanks!

Sheila--Sounds like you had a wonderful day with the day despite the weather.  In Erie, PA we always have Plan A and Plan B year round.  The fun must go on!  I have been to your area a few times as my husband's aunt lives in San Antonio and my brother lives near Amarillo.  One year we flew to Houston, rented a car and drove 1,800 miles round trip.  We saw lots of Texas which was our goal.  Love Austin & the hill country, too.
