This past Monday we all had the day off.
We are lucky that we had a day to relax, spend time with our family and share in our freedom. All of this based on what our service people have done for us for generations before and do for us on a DAILY basis.
We went to Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery here in San Antonio.
We found the grave of my grandfather and my boys great-grandfather. I have taken the boys before to visit, but they were smaller and they really didn't have an idea of what importance this place has for us as US Citizens.
I also didn't realize that my grandfather had also served in WWII, Korean and Vietnam wars.
I have these great diaries that he had written to my grandmother when he served during WWII, so I knew about his hardships during that war. But didn't realize the rest. It was also eye opening for me.
You can feel what a sacred place it is and makes you proud to be an American and grateful for our heros that protect and serve us....again, we are lucky to be free.
Here are some pictures of our day:

So, Thank you.
Thanks to all of those that have served or are currently serving. Thanks for everything that you do that helps keep my family safe and free.
I'm thankful for you.

Sorry I'm late getting here but running like crazy. I'm sure this will be something your son's will have memories of for a very long time. Family history is so important ;so expose them to as much as possible. C&C
