stock.xchng

I just had to share.

It's been trying and at times it's been difficult.

I've lost sleep over it,

the dog thinks, "how come you don't take me on a walk anymore?"  Yes, I can see it in her eyes.

I've re-written sentences and statements over and over again,

I take the camera with me EVERYWHERE,

I've gotten up before dawn (and anyone that knows me, knows THAT doesn't happen),

I've worked on it past midnight

I've perfected my spelling (well, maybe not), and yes, I DO know where the button is people

I've written words never to be seen, and then I've written words that should not have been seen,

I'm really NOT on a quest to write the biggest RUN ON SENTENCE that ever has been written,

My husband's favorite phrase is, "just walk away from it"

My kids say, "oh, brother, she's doing it again"

I've climbed a barbed wire fence (in a dress) to get a picture of a longhorn for it.

I pull over on the side of the road to jot down notes about it

I cook dinner and daydream about what I'll say

or how to say it

or when the best time is to say it

or how will it be received

sometimes I think it's therapy

and

sometimes I think I need therapy

and the absolute worst part of it, is that every other word out of my mouth with my office mates is:

YOU SHOULD BLOG ABOUT THAT!

Yes, it's true.

One year ago today I wrote my first post.   It was about two of my favorite things.

And last night I again went to see Two Tons of Steel in Gruene Hall again an KNEW that I had an anniversary coming up.

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY.

Honestly, it at times has been a love/hate relationship.

There are times that I KNEW I had a FEATURED post, but alas, not to be had.  There were times that I felt that it wasn't my best work and I received more comments than ever!  Go figure.

I've had strangers recognize me, e-mails from people that "read about" me and wanted to do business, and I have met some really AWESOME A/R people (some of them are now in my office), just from being online.  Oh, did I mention that I've closed deals over it?  Yes!

So, if your new and feel that it's taken over your life, decide right now if it's something that you want to continue?

Cause, honestly, a marriage like this takes work, honesty, and humility and gives you fun, smiles, laughs and a few tears, forges friendships that you never knew could be, makes you realize how blessed you are or how you could aspire to be more.

All from blogging and being part of this great family called ACTIVE RAIN.

Sheila, Happy ONE YEAR anniversary in the RAIN.  I hope you went to see the movie, Julie and Juliet, the gal blogs her heart out and all of use soulmates recognise ourself there.  I agree, it is an addiction, bloggin, yes I carry a notebook around with me now for sudden thoughts and a camera, although I am yet to climb over a barbed wire fence in a dress to get a photo.  I am glad you are here and sharing your experiences!  Awesome job you are doing.

Sheila, you're much too pretty to let it effect you like that.

Sheila:  Congratulations on your year and all of your successes.  I appreciated reading your post and your honest and interesting feelings about blogging.

I am writing, as I often do, in bed with my laptop, in my nightgown, with dirty hair.  But, no, I will not send a photo of it.

Shelia,

I do not know how you did it but you have captured every emotion that I have felt and I do think that I have acknowledged some new ones too.

BTW, nice photo of you.

There is nothing wrong with saying 'You should blog about that'. I know that when I walk into a store or see a sign or who knows what.. I always  think "I should write a post about this". I actually have a HUGe list of things to write, but have not gotten to them. Maybe one day.

Happy Anniversary.

Sheila - I'm sitting here trying to type "yes, I agree" and "congratulations" but it seems as if you kind of summing things up so well, that I have a hard time of finding the right way of putting it.  I think this post is a great example of why and how you should blog.  How you should keep doing it and why it will be worth it.  Consider yourself re-blogged.

Don- haha, I was trying to be really honest.

John-I don't think it's a problem saying it at all.  I think when I say it ALL THE TIME that it probably gets old after a while!

Matt- :) Thanks for the re-post, um, re-blog (yeah, still learning here, one day I'll be cool like you :))

Bill- keeping it real!

Chris & Stephanie, I had no idea it was going to be emotional at all?  Who would of thought it?!!
