Restaurant Review~ Canyon Cafe ~ San Antonio, Texas ~Alamo Quarry Shopping

My office Manager (Lisa) and I had lunch with some of our resource providers the other day.  We met with David Salinas with World Wide Pest Control and James Gonzalez with Farmers Insurance.

We met at Canyon Cafe which is in the Alamo Quarry...we are talking SHOPPING galore!  Whatever you need is in this quaint shopping center...er, sorry getting off the subject here...back to the food.

Yes, we all sat down and the place is well lit, bright, tall ceilings and the atmosphere was popping!  It was a Thursday afternoon and it seemed everyone was there!

The menu is very extensive.  They have a lot of southwestern style food but also have a chicken fried steak...so, everyone can get what they want.  They serve chips and salsa (with the red Chile peppers from New Mexico) delicious!    I had the crab cakes which was served with a dipping sauce and a great salad.  Yum, yum!

And don't forget that you have to wash it down with their 2 limit top shelf margaritas!  A must after a long week at the office.

So, the next time your in San Antonio you have to stop by!

Sounds lovely darling, except I don't drink. I will take you up on the foodie paradise part, though (LOL). <3 C.

Shelia,

Sounds like my hometown has really grown up since I left.  I need to git back down there and see what is happening.  Is Casa Rio still on the river walk?

Sheila - it's been too long since I have been in San Antonio. I will place this restaurant on my list of places to eat, thanks.

Don- grown up like you would NOT believe...it just dawned on me about a year ago that there was a reason I was late to my appointments.  I kept thinking in my mind that I could get anywhere in 15 minutes, NO LONGER THE CASE.  It's gonna take you about 30 !  Yes, Casa Rio is still on the river walk (with tons more stuff)...but some great mexican food all over town!

Mike-gotta come during Fiesta...it's 10 days of party and fun!

I really left San Antonio before the river walk morphed into what it is today.  I did go back in the 70's for about 2 years then moved away again.  Always Loved the Mexican Food and still do.  Thank you for the update.
